We pride ourselves in having a workplace that’s fun, engaging, and innovative, with a smart and motivated team that loves coming to work every day (either in-person or virtually); a team that truly makes magic happen.
This month, our employee spotlight showcases our Senior Developer, Kail Keusch. Let’s find out more about Kail, his background, and his role at One Click Contractor.
What’s your role at One Click Contractor?
Since joining One Click Contractor almost 4 years ago, I’ve worn many different hats. I have helped out in various areas of the business including Client Success, Onboarding, Development/Engineering and I’ve even done a little HR work here and there. Currently, I serve as the Senior Developer on the engineering team. I’m responsible for delivering software solutions for our customers while providing leadership and mentoring for our Junior Engineers.
What do you like most about being a Senior Developer at One Click Contractor?
It’s awesome to work with a team of innovators to deliver winning solutions to the home improvement industry. Our development team really strives to understand what the customer wants and delivers it quickly. I love being able to create solutions that will immediately impact our customer base.
Tell me about your background before coming to One Click Contractor?
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman in 2007 and began working in the automotive industry. As a member of the product development teams for Cummins Engines and Allison Transmission, I was responsible for developing and testing controls software for engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems. After 10 years in the automotive industry, I decided to pursue my passion for web development. One Click Contractor has provided me with an opportunity to utilize and grow my skills in web development and project management amongst a team of experienced and impassioned professionals.
When you’re not creating solutions for our customers, how do you spend your time?
My wife Andrea and I had our first son in January 2019. Clive is almost 2 years old and he has been alight in our life. We spend our weekends visiting family, hiking, and enjoying life together.
What have you always wanted to try and never have?
I would love the opportunity to live in the mountains. We are outdoor enthusiasts! I’d love the opportunity to do all of the outdoor activities including mountain biking and hiking in the summer, and fresh powder snowboarding really appeals to me. I haven’t had the heart to move further away from family, but the mountains still call, so who knows…maybe one day.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you…
1. I’m the proud brother of four sisters and just so happen to also be the middle child.
Three of my sisters are pregnant and this is the second occurrence that three sisters are pregnant at once!
2. My dad and I spent four years restoring a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 from the ground up.

3. I lived in the UK for six weeks working on a project for Cummins Engines and had the opportunity for a weekend trip down to snowboard in the Alps! That was an experience I’ll never forget.
If you had a time machine and could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?
If I had that time machine, I would want to go back to New York City when World War II just ended in 1945. I would like to be able to witness our American troops coming home to their loved ones after serving our country so bravely. It would be an honor to witness all the soldiers after so much sacrifice for our freedom. That would be a sight to see.
